Founded with an Idea To Preserve History.
The Slaughter Beach Historical Society is a 501(c)3 incorporated in October, 2021. It was founded with an idea from Stephen Heyse that the history of Slaughter Beach should be collected and preserved, with the goal of creating a coffee table book. A few local residents got involved and the project started evolving into a research and collection effort to collect, document, and preserve the history of Slaughter Beach and to share it with posterity in various formats. SBHS has recorded several oral histories, and prepared presentations for groups such as the Delaware Historical Society and the Presbyterian Church in Milford. Each of the members has taken on one or more areas of interest to research and develop into media forms to share with the Society and the interested public.
